Easiest Playdough Recipe

Happy Friday! Who is up for a super easy playdough recipe?!

I don’t know about you all but I feel like I am running out of things to keep my toddler occupied. Being quarantined is HARD. I decided I would share a playdough recipe with you, hopefully it will keep your little ones busy!

Here it is:

In a sauce pan on the stove pour in 3 cups of water (with food coloring, kool aid or extract).

Turn heat to medium and add 4 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Stir in 1 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cream of tartar and 3 3/4 cups of flour.

Stir until it begins to form a dough.  It may be a little bit lumpy, don’t worry.

Remove from heat, put on counter surface to knead once it is cool enough to touch.  I broke ours up into several pieces to cool faster.

I also used NEON food colors! I went with pink this time. My daughter mixed in purple from another set we have, that’s why it looks like tie dye 🙂 I think next time I will try teal. This playdough is so soft and doesn’t dry up as quickly as the store bought kind. Did I mention it’s also easy??

I hope you enjoy my playdough recipe!
